East Bench Wildfire Preparedness

With our neighborhoods bordering the foothills, wildfire poses a serious risk to both our homes and our safety. The following resources are provided by Salt Lake City’s Wildland Resources team.

  1. Build a Kit and Make a Plan: If you live in a wildland area, it’s important to build an emergency kit and have a plan for yourself and your family in the event of an evacuation.
  2. Salt Lake City East Side Wildland Fire Evacuation Zones: Several wildland fire evacuation zones have been established for the east side of Salt Lake City.  Residents in these areas may be asked to evacuate during a wildland fire.  If you live or work in one of these areas, learn the name of your zone in case you’re asked to leave the vicinity.
  3. Ready, Set, Go! Your Personal Wildfire Action PlanLearn more about how to protect your home or business in Salt Lake City with the Ready, Set, Go! Wildland Action Plan.
  4. Learn about Firework Restrictions: Learn more about fireworks, sky lantern, and smoking restrictions across Salt Lake City to help reduce the risk of accidental fires.
